In a landmark event held at Maansoor Hotel Hargeisa Mansoor Hotels in Hargeisa, Professor PLO Lumumba officially launched the Pan African Institute in Somaliland, marking the establishment of the second institute of its kind on the continent. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of philanthropists and investors from across the globe, reflecting the international support and enthusiasm for this initiative.

Among the notable guests were Former Senator Dr. Lenny Kivuti and international corporate lawyer Dr. Princess Mutisya, both of whom have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing education and unity across Africa. Their presence underscored the significance of the occasion and the broad coalition of leaders backing the project.

The Pan African Institute is a key component of the PLO Lumumba Foundation’s vision to foster African unity and self-reliance through education. The Foundation is also responsible for running an African-funded The Unity University in Somaliland, which provides scholarships and connects African students with valuable educational opportunities. This initiative aims to empower the next generation of African leaders and professionals, ensuring that talent and ambition are nurtured across the continent.
The launch event followed a meeting between Professor Lumumba and members of the Kenyan community living in Somaliland. During this meeting, Professor Lumumba encouraged Kenyans to uphold the good name of their country and to continue raising the Kenyan flag high, emphasizing the importance of national pride and positive representation abroad.

The establishment of the Pan African Institute in Somaliland represents a significant step forward in the movement for African-led educational development and continental unity. With the support of influential leaders and the dedication of the PLO Lumumba Foundation, the Institute is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of students and the broader African community.
