This afternoon, ODM Party Leader Dr. Oburu Odinga held talks with Dr. Ed Barnett, the Chargé d’Affaires at the British High Commission in Nairobi, who paid him a courtesy call.

During the meeting, Dr. Oburu briefed Dr. Barnett on recent developments within the ODM Party following the passing of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, the party’s relations with UDA, and progress on the implementation of the ten-point agenda.
Dr. Oburu emphasized ODM’s firm belief in democratic processes and constitutional change of government, noting that these principles guided the party’s decision to cooperate with UDA. He stated that ODM’s move was aimed at averting chaos and upholding stability in the country.
The Chargé d’Affaires, on his part, updated Dr. Oburu on the UK–Kenya Strategic Partnership signed in July, which focuses on key areas such as Growth, Trade and Investment, Climate and Nature, Science, Technology and Innovation, Security and Defence, and Migration.
Dr. Barnett also conveyed the UK government’s condolences to the Odinga family and the people of Kenya following the passing of Hon. Raila Odinga.
